i think Lagat was just running to move on remmber he ran the 5000 just two days befoure and it all depends on what you do at the worlds well sea who is in the mix in the mens 1500 finel and 5000 with the US distances runners whos got it this year ?
Mr. Flores,
Get over it. Suggesting that the alleged snub has something to do with Manzano's heritage is ridiculous. Let's see, they decided to interview two much more famous athletes, one of whom won the race and the other of whom will be representing the U.S., in multiple events, for the first time as a U.S. citizen. Golly, you're right, it MUST be prejudice! As a non-Hispanic American, I am appalled by this favoritism unfairly shown to better and more famous runners.
As a Hispanic American, I found it revolting and insulting, how Leo Manzano was TOTALLY ignored during the interviews following the men's 1500 meter race. Webb and Lagat deserve respect, but it was MANZANO that ran a lifetime best by over two seconds to take second place, over the much more celebrated Lagat. Leo is a fast risiing young star, that WILL prove his worth at the World Championships. His record at the University of Texas speaks for itself. His career has been a steadily rising one, without the histrionics of the roller coaster career of Alan Webb. Manzano's time is among the Ten fastest in the world, he can only get so much better. And to think, he is only a Junior at the University of Texas. Congratulations Leo, you deserved as much, if not more, respect and attention than Lagat and Webb
I am proud of the 2nd Place finish of Lawarence Willis in the Triple Jump. I told him, "Go and Get It". Make Louisiana and University of Louisiana Lafayette Proud.
