Game 5? LOL.... the Refs? LOL.... where were they? The bad calls and the No calls...what a joke! I thought this was a Professional Sport, not a pick-up game without rules. I admire the Wings for keeping cool when the Flames were on a melt down. I believe the NHL will never be the same since the strike. WHAT HAPPENED TO HOCKEY?
Another NHL fan lost ( I rather watch curling) at least you get to see some hits there ayyy.
well the nhl cant control the game you have to expect stuff like this. detroit has been running kipper all series but the nhl wont call it becaus ethey want detroit in. bring back fighting and holmstrom and draper wouldn't be pulling that euro crap. this playoff has been brutal for goalies they are run all the time and the nhl wants more scoring so it seems like it is allowed. as for you cement quit pacing your self on the back to mention you have a ring. you are one of the worst players ever and i dont know if you ever listeen to yourself talk after a game but man you know nothing about the game you have your favorite players and thats all you know, even their crotch size i'm sure. but your best talent is stating the obvious, you could make an adult movie boring.
It was sad what happened yesterday and yes Calgary should pay for what they did, but so should Homlstrom who run the Calgary goalie in the opening minutes of the game and the ref who did not make the call, as that set the tone for the day. Seems the NHL has gone back to the old style of playoff refereeing, they put Detroit shorthanded 7 times early but it should have been closer to double that.
When the Refs let one team get away with murder the other team has to take matters into their own hands and take care of themselves. Detroit over and over again running the Calgary goalie, Todd Burtuzzi with his usual class of hitting people from behind, and the one instance you showed on your highlights of Neilson going after Drapper, if you back up the replay a bit more, you will see Drapper going after Neilson.
So yes, Calgary lost their mind and should pay for it, and the goalie suspended, so should Holmstrom for running the goalie early in the game and after, and the two referees for not making those calls, there might have been a different game. I like Detroit but they are hard to cheer for sometime because of the level of home cooking they get from referees, let's make the games level and fair and maybe even go back to the way the game was refereed last year, Hockey is a beautiful game we don't need all this extra stuff, and by the way the refs call the game the League is responsible for what happened yesterday.
I just had the unfortunate opportunity to listen to Brett Hull's comments about the Flames and their organization in general. I find it totally amazing that Hull would openly bash an organization that gave him an opportunity to start his career as a NHL player?? Then again, maybe I shouldnt be surprised at his comments. I have been a season ticket holder since the Flames moved to Calgary from Atlanta in 1980 and to hear a past player whom I and many other loyal season ticket holders supported (hmmmm. paid his salary??) over the years - now who has gone onto a bigger and better career behind a sports desk feels that he can now make ungracious comments like this? I have lost a lot of respect for Hull not only as a hockey player but as a Flame due to the comments he just made on the NBC pregame show. This may speak to his true character. Brett, say what you want about the players but don't attack the organization.
What the Flames did was try and send a message to the Wings. Will it work? Who knows, but I would rather see a team try and set a tone for a game 24 hours later, than not. The Red Wings have pushed the envelope when it comes to crowding the net. This is not the only team that is using this tactic this spring, (chat with Luongo or Brodeur or Turco ........) but at least the Flames are standing up to the aggressors, instead of whining to the refs and the league. I expect nothing less than that from Hull, but Clement knows better.
As for Hull and Clement, the fact that they are criticizing the Flames organization, I would like to ask them both where their careers started. Clement in Atlanta, and Hull in Calgary. Same organization. There has been a plethora of more embarrassing moments during this season than what happened at JLA yesterday afternoon. Hockey is a game of emotion and at that point the emotion got the better of them. I will take 20 guys that play with emotion any day of the week
I strongly agree, that the hits were completly unexceptable. I beleve that the backup goalie, Jamie McLennan, should be suspended for several games and removed from the roster for the remainder of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs. i will say the same thing when Bertuzzi had his incodent, i beleve he should be suspended for several games at the least, and possibly facing expulsion from the National Hockey League.
I hate detroit and I stil feel sorry for the guy. A goalie stick to the gut is just plain cheap and reckless. There is no excuse for it, even that questionable elbow (emphasis on questionable). I'm almost afraid of what's going to happen in game 6. GO STRIPES.

Clement also = tool.
